Thalli prostrate, dorsiventral, light to dark red in colour. Thalli sparsely branched, grows up to 5 cm long and attached by means of groups of multicellular rhizoids arising from the ventral side with well developed terminal undulated disc. Rhizoids 160-600 µm in length and 67-115 µm in width. Main axis cylindrical consists of 4-7 pericentral cells with inrolled apices (circinate). Axis bears two rows of erect asymmetrical, broadly ovate and leaf like determinate branches. Leaves arranged alternatively and partly overlapping with each other. Leaves monostromatic at the margins and more than one layer at midrib region. An apex of leaves bears colourless, deciduous trichoblast and leaves measures 600-870 µm broad and 0.5-1.1 mm high. Reproductive structures are not observed in the present study.
