    Thallus with rhizomatous prostrate portion, simple or branched terete, 4mm thickness, attached by rhizoidal conical holdfast. Thalli pale pink in colour; densely cushions of erect axes, 4-10 cm height, terete or slightly compressed, often branches, branches bearing pinnately ramified fronds, ramuli usually sub-distichously arranged, having determinate growth, 3-8mm long and cylindrical or complanate up to 400 µm thick, often divided in their distal portions into 2-6 ramules of determinate growth. Apex of branches and ramuli clothed by trichoblast. Trichoblasts small, often with just one or two forkings, deciduous rarely persistent and well developed.
