Thallus pinkish red and firmly attached by small discoid holdfast measures 2-6 mm in diameter. Thalli stipitate with undulated to peltate fronds. Stipe solid, cylindrical, measures 5-12 mm long and 1-3 mm in broad. Thickened collars occasionally present indicating that the fronds can regenerate. Young fronds measure 1.5 – 3 cm in diameter and 200-300 μm thick. Diameter of the mature fronds can reach up to 10 cm and 1 mm thickness
Anatomy (internal structure) of thallus shows cortex of 2–4 layers of small spherical to oblong cells, 12-40 μm long and medulla of 2 layers of large oblong colorless cells, 70-142 μm and 38- 60 μm broad
