Thallus 15-28 cm in height and up to 5-8 cm in width, 146 μm thick, light olive green in colour; attenuated at the base; upper portion palmate, sub- dichotomously divided, margin dentate; thallus in section composed of superficial layers surrounding two to three layers of inner cells; cells of the superficial layers subquadrate, up to 22 x 37 μm large; inner layers composed of polygonal cells 25-31 μm broad and 65-78μm in length. Tetrasporangia distributed over the surfaces, globular in shape.

Growing in the mid- littoral region.
