    Thalli deep green, slightly spongy, dorsiventral, adherent to substratum applanate or forming orbicular foliose, about 1-3 cm in height and 7-10 cm broad. Secondary utricles arising as buds from lower parts of primary utricles and forming large groups of closely related utricles; mature utricles cylindrical or clavate with subtruncate or slightly rounded apices, only occasionally alveolate, slightly constricted below the apex, 450-1170 µm long and 66-160 µm broad. Hairs or hair scars abundant on older utricles.


Ecology

Growing on lower intertidal rocks or dead coral.
