    Thalli highly variable and shows prostrate and erect systems. Prostrate system loose to densely formed fleshy stolons attached to the substratum by means of branched colourless rhizoidal holdfast. Stolons profusely branched, yellowish green to dark green in colour, 1.5-2.5 mm thick. The erect system, assimilatory filaments short measures 2-5cm height. Rachis densely placed by pedicellated ramuli (branchlet) with various shaped viz., subspherical, spherical or broadly clavate. Ramuli distichously, multiseriately or imbricately arranged on rachis and completely covering the rachis, measures 1-2.5 mm in diameter.
