Thalli dark green in colour, thallus tuft, gregarious, siphonous, nor traversed internally by a network of trabeculae, usually 5-13cm long, feather like. The main axes usually unbranched, erect, naked below and sparingly branched with pinnately divided branchlets; plumules linear-lanceolate, distichously, with acute apices, 1.5-2.5 cm long and 2-6 mm broad; holdfast rhizoidal, attached tightly with the rocky substratum in intertidal belts.

Krusadai Island (Chacko et al, 1955); Indian Ocean (Srinivasan, 1959), Vishakhapatnam (Umamaheswara Rao and Sreeramulu, 1964).
