Unicellular blue-green alga, cell ellipsoid in shape, 4-8 cells enclosed in old mother cell wall forming pseudocolony due to autospore formation. Cells measure 18-25 μm in length and 12-16 μm in breadth. Cell wall thick, cells contains chromatophores or cyanelles radiating from the center towards periphery
Ecology
Free floating alga occurs in Lakes and Ponds.
