Lorica ellipsoid to subspherical and reddish brown to yellowish brown in colour; lorica measures 33-38 µm long and 30-35 µm road. Lorica shows robust conical spines of variable length and distributed throughout surface of the loirca; pore with or without annular ring but sometimes with a depressed dentate collar; fairly thick membrane and finely punctate.
