Lorica ellipsoid to slightly obovate with rounded ends and densely covered with conical spines occasionally irregular or widely distributed. Lorica 24–30 µm long and 18–23 µm broad. Apical pore with or without annular thickening and depressed collar; membrane yellowish to reddish brown with finely punctate or occasionally smooth.
