Lorica broad ellipsoidal to subspherical with round posterior end; anterior end broadly rounded and slightly flatten. Lorica 21–25 µm long and 14–18 µm broad. Apical pore with annular thickening and collar absent; membrane reddish brown. Lorica covered by irregular, densely arranged conical spines, 2–3 µm long and notoriously punctate.
