Cells fusiform to cylindrical with broadly rounded anterior end and posterior end produced into distinct spine. Cells 52-65 µm long and 16-31 µm broad, with tail 9-15 µm long. Pellicle shows spiral rows of rectangular, verrucae arranged from right to left; Plastids discoid and numerous; paramylum body with two large median lateral rings.
