Colony consists of 2-4(8) cells; Cells smooth and lack teeth, spines or granules and arranged linearly or alternately in 1 or 2 rows. Cells measure 13-34 μm long and 6-13 μm broad. Cell rarely solitary and joined with almost three quarters of the cell length. Cells spindle in shape with pointed or often elongated finger-like at the ends. The inner cells straight and end cells clearly arcuate. Young cells concave and the mature cells slightly convex but with curved ends.
Ecology
Thalli collected as plankton from Ponds, Lakes and Rivers.

Assam, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal.
