Colony consists of 4-8-16 or more cells and attached to each other at dorsal surface. Cells crescent to sickle shaped with tapering apices. Cells measure 14-32 μm in length and 3-5 μm in breadth. Cells show a curved plate-like chloroplast with a pyrenoid.
Ecology
Freshwater alga occurs in Lakes and Ponds.
