    Colonies of 4 celled or groups of 16 or more celled multiple colonies. Four celled colonies quadrate with minute rectangular space at the center. Cells flatten and triangular with rounded ends. Margins of cells always concave. Cells measure 5-10 μm in diameter. Four-celled colonies measure 9-18 μm in diameter


Ecology

Freshwater alga prefers meso-eutrophic water bodies.
