Colonies spherical in shape and consists of 8, 16, 32 or 64 cells. Cell spherical shows wart like processes and truncated external sides. Cells interconnected to the adjacent cells by 1-3 long, slender fingerlike processes. Cells show laminar, parietal chloroplast with a pyrenoid. Cells 9-17 μm in diameter.
Ecology
Occurs in mesotrophic to eutrophic lakes, ponds and reservoirs.
