    Colonies light to dark green colour, irregular shaped and free floating. Colony consisted of 16, 32, 64 cells, without a gelatinous colonial envelope. Cells in groups of four and arranged alternately in a zigzag fashion. Outer cells of each group reniform or somewhat crescent-shaped, Inner cells elongate-ovoid to ellipsoid. Ends of cells rounded. Chloroplast a parietal plate nearly covering the entire cell wall in mature cells. Cells 4-15 μm in diameter, 9-25 μm long. Colonies up to 100 μm in diameter.


Ecology

It is freshwater plankton in Lakes, Swamps and Ponds.
