Colony consists of 2-4 cells. Cells measure 8-20 μm long and 4-12 μm broad. The marginal cells with a long spine from one of the poles and spines measure 3-10 μm long. The spine of the two marginal cells alternating with each other. The longitudinal ribs observed only in the internal cells.
Ecology
Thalli collected as plankton form from Lakes, Ponds and Rivers.
