Colonies more or less spherical, composed of 8, 16, 32 (64) cells with small triangular intercellular spaces and smaller than the cell diameter. Colonies 25-95 μm in diameter. Cells spherical to ovoid, enclosed by delicate gelatinous sheaths; cells 10-29 μm in diameter. cells without any processes on outer side and interconnecting processes to adjacent surrounding cells.
Ecology
Occurs as phytoplankton in freshwater in Lakes and Ponds.
