    Colonies spherical consists of 8, 16, 32 or 64 cells; cells spherical to ovoid in shape with 5-6 sided in apical view. Cells wall slightly thicken at the outer side. Cells interconnected to the adjacent cells by the processes of the 5-6 laterals at basal part. Colony with small triangular intercellular spaces. Cells 13-20 μm in diameter; chloroplast parietal, with a pyrenoid.


Ecology

Freshwater alga prefers eutrophic water bodies.

Bahuda River, Odisha; Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.
