    Cells large in size, slightly longer than broad, measure 95-123 µm in length and 90-108 µm in breadth. Cells deeply constricted at the center with acutely open sinus and isthmus 15-28 µm long. Semicell with three lobes, polar lobe shows elongated basal part and produced into long tapering apical angles with denticles. Tips of the polar lobe with minute spines and a pair of accessory short processes placed one in the front and another at the back of the apex. Lateral lobes divided into two large lobes and each one with short process facing each other. Lateral lobes and short processes tapering at the end, covered with denticles and small spines at the apices. Semicells show denticulations along the margins, rhomboid to fusiform in vertical view.

Freshwater alga occurs in mesotrophic water bodies.
