    Semicells in rough outline semi-oval. Lobes mutually separated by wide incurvations. Apices slightly domed with a (rather) deep, narrow median incision. Apical angles ending in a denta tion. Basal lobes rounded, lateral lobes truncate to slightly incurved. Semicells with a flattened central inflation furnished with a circle of three (rarely more) bean-shaped verrucae. On either side of the upper one of these verrucae usually a scrobicula. On the lobes a varying number of granula, at the cell margin often somehat protruding. Cell length 30-42 μm, breadth 21-33 μm.


Ecology

Thalli collected as plankton from Pond. It prefers mesotrophic Water bodies.
