    Cells small, semi cells globose, broadly elliptic in apical view, apices rounded; cells deeply constricted in middle with acute-angled and sinus widely open. Cell wall smooth; Cells interconnected to large, usually branched colonies. Chloroplast axile, one per semi cell with a pyrenoid. Cells measure 12-26 µm in length, 6-18 µm in breadth, 3-7 µm broad at isthmus.
