Cells small in size, longer than broad with a deep, closed or narrowly open, linear sinus. Cells measure 26-36 µm length, 22-32 µm breadth, isthmus 4-7 µm broad. Semicell hemispherical, apical angle broadly rounded, apex broadly rounded to slightly truncated. Cell wall with small spines.
Ecology
Thalli collected as plankton from lakes and ponds.
