    Cells large in size, 1.8-2.1 times longer than broad, oval in outline with a shallow, widely open sinus. Cells measure 80 -120 μm length, 55-65 μm breadth and sinus 36-45. Cell wall equally beset with granules that are arranged in regular, transversal and decussate rows.


Ecology

Epiphytic and prefers mesotrophic water bodies.
