Cells large, 1.5-2 times longer than broad; deeply constricted, sinus closed; Semi cells elongate-pyramidal shape, cell wall straight, smooth, broadly truncated apex; cells measure 55-84 µm length, 28-44 µm breadth and isthmus 9-14 µm broad. chloroplast two per semi cell with a pyrenoid each.
Ecology
Thalli epiphytic and prefers oligo-mesotrophic water bodies.
