Cells small, about 1.5 times longer than broad, deeply constricted, sinus narrowly linear with dilated apex. Cells measure 29-35 µm length, 20-25 µm breadth, isthmus 3-5 µm broad. Semicells trapeziform, apex faintly retuse with rounded angles, lateral margin convex and cell wall thick and smooth.
Ecology
Planktonic forms, prefers oligo-mesotrophic water bodies.
