Cells medium size longer than wide, cells measure 41-48 μm length and 22-29 μm width. Cells deeply constricted sinus linearly narrow, isthmus 7-10 μm. Semicell pyramidal shape with truncated apices with apical notch. Semicells with rounded apical and basal angles and punctuated cell wall.

Plankton found in mesotrophic freshwater water bodies.
