Cells medium size, longer than broad and cells measure 45–56 μm length and 43–49 μm width. Cells deeply constricted, sinus open in the proximal and closed in the distal regions, isthmus 14–19 μm. Semicell trapeziform to pyramidal shape with flattened apices. Apical and basal angles rounded; cell wall punctuated. In lateral view, semicell looks semi-circular and elliptical in vertical view.
Ecology
Thalli collected as plankton from Ethancaud-Puliyangulam Pond, Agastheeswaram Taluk; Pond at Chemmuthal- Thodakulam, Vilavancode Taluk.
