Cells medium size, longer than broad; cells deeply constricted, sinus widely open; cells measure 31-45 µm in length, 22-32 µm in breadth, isthmus 5-10 µm broad. Semi cells circular; cell wall thick, punctate; chloroplast axile, one per semi cell with a single central pyrenoid.
Ecology
Thalli collected as plankton and prefers oligo-mesotrophic waters.
