Cells medium size, longer than broad. Cells deeply constricted, sinus linear and closed. Semicells pyramidal with broadly rounded angles. Cell wall finely granulated, apex truncated. Cells measure 53-75 μm length, breadth 30-38 μm, isthmus 10-14.5 μm broad.
Ecology
It prefers mesotrophic and slightly acidic to slightly alkaline water bodies.
