Cells medium size, mostly longer than broad and measure 41-47 μm length and 45-52 μm width. Cells deeply constricted at the center, sinus open widely and isthmus 22-27 μm. Semicells transversely elliptic, hemispherical or slightly pyramidal with broadly rounded apices without apical notch. Semicells circular in lateral view and elliptical in vertical view, Basal angles of the semi cells furnished with 1-3 stouts and entire cell wall shows punctuation.

Freshwater plankton occurs in mesotrophic water.
