Cells small measures 14–20 µm in length and 11–16 µm in width. Semicells pentagonal, roundly rectangular in shape with truncated apices or with slight depression in the mid region. Semicells elliptical in lateral and vertical view. The lateral margins straight or slightly convex and median constriction deep and linearly close isthmus 2.5–4 µm.
