Cells larger in size, cylindrical to subcylindrical, mostly 2 times longer than broad, cells measure 63-74 µm in length and 37-44 µm in breadth. Cells show very shallow constriction at center and very broad isthmus 32-36 µm. Semicells widely ovate with broad base, sub-truncated with rounded apex. Cell wall shows evenly distributed punctae. Semicell circular in vertical view.
Ecology
Freshwater alga prefers slightly acidic to slight alkaline waters bodies.
